Poem: To All Youth Including Myself – The Inner Work

I wrote this poem while reflecting, caring, and feeling. To be honest, four years ago, my mind was mostly focused on me, myself, and I.

The biggest shift happened when I started to look inside. There’s something about going through suffering, accepting pain, and truly seeing your own scars and wounds that opens you up to the pain of others. It connects you in a way that’s hard to explain but deeply felt.

The Inner Work
To all Youth, including myself.

The coming 10 years are vital tipping points.
Look at the science.
Look at our minds.
Look at the world.

Imagine that this world is a reflection
Of our minds in action.

Maybe your feeling is right—
That something is not alright.
It’s time to make it right.

Instead of going outside,
Have you ever looked inside?
Do you trust that there is more,
Or do you stay on the shore?

Can you sit and be alone,
Without reaching for the throne?

We gotta stop escaping—
Through our phones, through consumption,
Through hiding behind what we own.

Real connection doesn’t happen on a screen.
It happens in the spaces where we dare to be seen.

If you feel resistance,
Don’t take any distance.

Living from the heart—
That is where we start.
